MeMaw’s Southern Cookin’
Description: This book is a collection of over 1,100 recipes the author started collecting when she was 10 years old. (That was in 1949!) It contains recipes for appetizers, snacks, party foods, beverages, breads (biscuits, muffins, quick breads, and yeast breads), vegetables (casseroles and side dishes), main dishes, cakes, cookies, bars and squares, pies, pastries, cobblers, desserts, candies, canning, miscellaneous recipes such as honey butter, play dough, condensed milk, and others. It also has “Quips and Quotes from MeMaw’s Notes.” These are notes the author kept of cute and interesting things her 2 grandsons said and did whey they were very young. Besides the down to earth recipes, there are notes and tips on how to have the perfect baked goods and other dishes. Many people have proclaimed this cookbook as the only cookbook they need. They also enjoy reading it “like a novel.” For questions about this book, contact Carolyn at the address below.
